Special Education Personal Statement
As a highly motivated special education teacher, I am interested in applying for the position. With over ten years of working with students with learning disabilities, I possess the skills and expertise to excel in the field of teaching. My achievements in curriculum development have driven instruction to improve student engagement. I am motivated to leverage my knowledge to contribute to the success of learners in the New York City school.
As a special education professional, I am passionate about creating inclusive and supportive learning experiences that produce critical thinking and engaging learners. I would like to be considered for a teaching position within New York City. My goal is to empower students with diverse learning needs to excel. With over a decade of experience in special education, I have developed a strong foundation of individualized instruction, behavioral support, and multidisciplinary team. I believe it would be an opportunity for me to give back into a viable learning community and grow professionally. Ideally a school community that offers professional development and supports a creative curriculum for diverse learning needs would align with my background.
My experience of working with students with learning disabilities has shaped me into a patient, creative and caring professional. It is noteworthy to consider my strengths, experiences, and skills which can be an asset to a school. Essentially, the students would benefit from my contribution to their learning outcomes. I would be receptive and embrace new mandates as well as developing a collegial relationship approach to stay abreast with what matters most as teamwork.
Even though my most preferred subject area and/or grade level to teach is science, I'm academically prepared to help students with special needs to achieve challenging tasks. My goal is to offer every student an opportunity for a quality education. I am committed to fostering a learning community that promotes academic, social and emotional growth.
